A renowned master craftsman and mosaicist of 30+ years, Paul offers Master Classes in mosaic to complete beginners or those who’d like to extend their skills. Informal, inspiring and highly rewarding, we welcome guests from across the UK to our Home Studio in the coastal resort of Leigh-on-Sea. Under Paul’s expert guidance you’ll explore and develop mosaic skills in a delightfully relaxed and friendly environment. We offer places to as few as two and as many as six attendees to ensure excellent one-to-one tuition. Places tend to get snapped up quickly so please call for availability.
One of Britain’s most accomplished mosaicists Paul’s extensive portfolio of works have been commissioned, sold and exhibited across the UK and internationally. A founding member of BAMM – British Association for Modern Mosaic, an award-winning designer and author of “The Mosaic Sourcebook” Paul is often asked to speak of his work to the media and at UK and international events. Friendly, down to earth with a natural passion for sharing his love of mosaics, students leave his Master Classes bursting with enthusiasm and the confidence to tackle future mosaics projects of their own.

Two full days at our Studio (9 am – 5 pm)
Day 1 :
9 am – 10.30 am – Welcome & Design Meeting
10.30 am – 5 pm – Safety precautions and use of tools
– Application & cutting techniques
– Making of your mosaic
Day 2 :
9 am – 12 pm – Mosaics finished to paper
12 pm – 5 pm – Mixing & application of adhesives & grout.
If your mosaic is not finished within the set 2 days, you are welcome to come back to the studio for an additional £25 per session am/pm or £50 for the entire day – alternatively you can take it home to finish it in your own time and bring it back for the application process and grouting. This will also be charged at £25 per session am/pm or £50 for the entire day.
Join us to discover an array of mosaic materials – develop and master cutting techniques and learn the different uses and application of grouts and adhesives.
You’ll leave your course with an impressive mosaic you have created in its entirety and importantly the knowledge, skills and ability to design and create future works of your own.
